II. Folk Music from Lorestan/Iran
Traditional, joyful folk music of the Lurs from Lorestan in western Iran.
Faraj Alipour, a virtuoso of the Kamancheh, plays and sings powerful melodies and intricate harmonies that come straight from the soul of Lori music. Behnam Samani, master of the Persian Tombak, and Reza Samani on the Daf infuse the ensemble with vibrant rhythms, adding depth and dynamism.
